Aims of the School
All students should have access to a broad and balanced curriculum. School should help students to develop independent, lively, enquiring minds with the ability to think clearly and reason. Students need to know the importance of adopting a healthy life style and be encouraged to take responsibility for their immediate environment and how this affects our planet. Students need to have a sense of wonder at their world.
School should seek to increase the confidence and self-esteem of all students as well as fostering an atmosphere of mutual respect between staff, parents and students. Students need to know right from wrong. They should be smart in appearance, punctual and well mannered. They should treat others with respect and kindness regardless of race, gender, beliefs or appearance.
Students should leave school with the understanding, knowledge and skills useful to adult life and their future employment in a fast changing world. They should have a sense of personal achievement and be ready to take their place within the island community and the world at large. Students should strive for excellence in their lives and value their education.
